In April of 2009, Ted was voted most bipartisan Democrat in a survey taken by 99 senators by The Hill.

Ted was one of the very few Democrats willing to work with President George W. Bush and in 2002 worked with the president to form the No Child Left Behind initiative (which at the time both had the best intentions, but Ted soon would regret it only because he realized the gov't didn't have a sufficient amount of money at the current time to have the program actually work efficiently).

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Ted were very much the odd couple and worked together many times to the dismay of many Republicans. Colleagues but friends as well, the two negotiated and were productive together to pass important legislation such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program)

Ted also did his best to try to work with other Republicans such as President Nixon on health care reform.

Ted and Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) had also worked very hard in 2007 to try to pass the Kennedy/McCain Bill for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

….Truly one of the greats, we could use more senators like him today in these tough times of gridlock in Congress..
